Koha is the first free and open source integrated library automation package. In use worldwide, its development is steered by a growing community of users collaborating to achieve their technology goals. Koha’s feature set continues to evolve and expand to meet the needs of its user base.
Koha is a true enterprise-class ILS with comprehensive functionality including basic and advanced options. Koha includes modules for acquisitions, circulation, cataloging, serials management, authorities, flexible reporting, label printing, multi-format notices, offline circulation for when Internet access is not available, and much more. Koha will work for consortia of all sizes, multi-branch, and single-branch libraries.
Integrated library system (ILS) Koha has been widely used in different parts of Indian subcontinent also. However, the users of Koha are facing some problems. There are some local solutions, local modifications etc. adopted at the time of implementing Koha which should be documented for the future development of this software. Sometimes, a few indigenous issues are coming into the surface those create many confusions among Koha users. New demands have been evolved. So there should be a common platform where Koha users and developers can meet together to resolve their problems, share their demands, implement new decisions which will be extremely helpful for the future development of Koha. We hope IndKoha2019 is the place where Koha users from all over the world can share their experience, expertise and ideas. Thus the global Koha user community get benefits from this conference.
